Thought for The Day - July 15, 2008

July 15, 2008

Enjoy the trip called the journey of life…..the destination is final.

Tomorrow my youngest son will be 31 years old.  I was wondering today where it had all gone.  My life is like most, with its ups and downs.  There are some things that, if I could, I would have done differently.  If I had I then I would not be the person I have become today.  I’m not unhappy how my life turned out.  My only real regrets are those things that have harmed others, specifically my family.

The difference between men and women

June 13, 2008

OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

Don’t mess with my brother

May 7, 2008

So my brother and his lady have this beautiful new home in Wolforth, near Lubbock.  They are both smokers and have determined they will not smoke in the new house.  So what do they do?  They have a living area in the garage.  Yes, it houses a car.  But there is a table, chair, microwave oven, dresser (complete with makeup bag) stereo, cd player, television and last but not least a refrigerator.  The magnetic sign on the refrigerator, obviously guarding the beer, says:

NO TRESPASSING:

TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT

SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN!

Must be the Kenley coming out in him. :-D

This roof is probably in Kasas (or more springtime in Texas)

April 24, 2008

For the last 3 weeks in a row we’ve had nasty weather, last night was no exception. It was raining so hard last night I couldn’t leave at my normal time (10PM). I was down in my office when the fire alarm went off, no one in the house knew how to turn the damn thing off except me. I sent staff in search of the fire. There wasn’t a fire, but there was a leak in the roof upstairs and the water was pouring out of a light fixture - now THAT is scary. An hour later I was home, safe and sound…..until next week.

Religious truths

April 9, 2008

During these serious times, people of all faiths should remember these religious truths:

  1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God’s chosen people.
  2. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.
  3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian World.
  4. Baptists do not recognize each other at Hooters.

:-D

WHERE IS MY VOICE

March 14, 2008

I woke up yesterday to find that my voice was gone.  I’ve had a sore throat for a couple of days, but nothing serious.  I called in sick at work and went back to bed to sleep til 5:30 pm.  When I awoke this morning I was sure I would be better.  Barely croaking.  However, I don’t feel like I’m as sick as yesterday, so I’ll probably go to work.

Snow

March 7, 2008

On February 1st it was 81 degrees.  Yesterday on March 6th it snowed 7 inches.  I was stranded at work til 5:30 this morning.  Texas has no equipment to take care of snow on the bridges.  The high this weekend - in the 60’s, go figure.

My PCO friends:

Brattitude, Carrie, Blitz and Tiger.

Someone that I admire alot because he’s overcome huge obstacles to obtain his goal of singing opera:  Paul Potts

And last but not least:  Jeff - the Bastardette, Gina’s, new love.

Word of the day

March 8, 2007

pan·ic1      [pan-ik] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, adjective, verb, -icked, -ick·ing.

–noun

1. a sudden overwhelming fear, with or without cause, that produces hysterical or irrational behavior, and that often spreads quickly through a group of persons or animals.
2. an instance, outbreak, or period of such fear.

That would about describe many peoples reaction to the situation within my agency.  Heads are rolling, lives are wrecked…many people will go to prison.
