Sandra, your Life Path of 9 …

You are a deeply spiritual individual who often displays a deep interest in religion or the occult at a very early age. In fact many nines grow up to be psychics, healers, priests and nuns. You probably feel responsible for keeping up the morality or spirit of mankind in some way, or even responsible for their very souls. This is why many nines also end up working for the law as policemen or judges or in some aspect of spiritual or psychological counseling.

The emphasis of your life path is on finding ways to communicate the divinity of man in a practical context. As many nines are also very artistic, this connection with the higher powers might also be expressed through a talent such as writing, music or painting.

At some point in your life you have probably sworn to yourself to make this world a better place. You are extremely compassionate and feel above the matters that you feel causes factions of society to be divided. You are very aware of feeling as insignificant as a grain of sand in the Universe and believe that materialism, prejudice and lust just don’t matter in the long run.

You have a charismatic and very open personality that attracts you a lot of friends. You are very social, sometimes at the expense of your other responsibilities. Sometimes a number nine might take too much time out during the day “to smell the flowers” and incur the resentment of those that are left to pick up the slack.

Your attitude towards life in general is very selfless and you usually have a good connection with God or a higher power. However often the number 9 faces a unique challenge at some point in his or her life that seems to be a test of faith. Usually this incident takes the form of a devastating personal loss, disease or some sort of tragedy. This triggers a period of time that lasts a few years that is often called the “dark night of the soul.” It is usually during this period of your life that you find the extreme courage and strength to become what is called a wounded healer.

Your life may seem too tough to handle at times which makes you vulnerable to finding substitutes for the family unit. As you are naturally very lonely and insecure, you are particularly vulnerable to joining a cult or becoming fanatical in the religious sense.

If you are a number nine you may find your life seems more difficult than others. This is because it is common human nature to take advantage of your compassion, empathy and generosity. It may seem unfair to you that others do not appreciate the spiritual gifts that you have to offer, especially when you demand so little materially from the world. This is part of the problematic path of the number 9 who is often fated to learn that the path of true compassionate does not necessarily result in spiritual rewards for the healer either.

Although you may feel quite clear about your divine purpose and goals in life, others may perceive you as weird or spacey. This is why it is often difficult for a number 9 to keep a job for long. Relationships might also be very difficult for a 9 to sustain, as this particular path is a rather lonely one. Part of the 9’s spiritual development is usually being presented with situations that force them to let go of emotional situations and connections that might interfere with the higher purpose that the cosmos has in store for them.

Some of this is a crock, but most so true it’s scary.

Dead car

June 30, 2006

The insurance company totaled my car.  Seems that the damage is twice as much as the car is worth.  The adjustor said I’m lucky to be ok.

They informed me that after an offer is made on the car I only have 3 days more on the rental car.  How am I going to work two of those three days and find new wheels?  CRAP!

Accident waiting to happen

June 28, 2006

Crap!  Pauline (the Blonde) wrote a post the other day about her daughter and stated in it that Carol Ann is clumsey.

Well, check THIS out!  We have yard carts for our garbage that we have to sit out on the curb for pick up every Thursday morning.  So here I go.  There is a pretty steep little hill that I have to go down to get the carts on the curb.  I’m tooling along pushing the cart.  The cart tips over and I fell over the top of it!  Whacked my shins and bent my toenail backwards.  DAMN that hurt.

Think I’ll go to bed!  Maybe if I’m lucky I won’t fall out of it.!

GEICO

June 28, 2006

This is my auto insurance carrier.  Usually I can find something to complain about with insurance companies, but not this time. These are the most courteous, polite, helpful people I’ve ever come in contact with.

After my auto crash a few days ago I made that phone call, dreading to hear what they had to say.  The initial contact with a young gentleman in the claims department was very pleasant.  He made the reservations for my rental car and had them pick me up at home to get the car.  He arranged with me the most convenient body shop to take care of the car repairs.  He then gave me the number of another gentleman who would take care of the rest of my claim.  Again, another helpful, courteous man who took my statement and wished me well.

Today I got a phone call from a young lady that said she needed me to release the car from the initial wrecking yard so it could be towed to the body shop.  I told her I would call them.  No need, she said, she would connect me to them.  Two minutes flat, it was taken care of, with the assurance that the intial wrecking yard fees would be taken care of.

Granted, I have paid my premiums on time, paid for the coverage that I am getting.  In this society where courtesy is a thing of the past, GEICO is a customer service company.

Cheers to you GEICO for hiring and training these wonderful people.

Second knee done

June 27, 2006

Lonnie had second knee replaced yesterday.  Flying colors again.  This one took half the time of the first.

He’s funny on drugs. 😀  Cusses like a sailor… fancy that, being retired navy and all.

He said the surgeon told him his condition is excellent.  At day two he is where most people are when they leave the hospital.  He’ll be headed for rehab to learn to walk again on his new pegs either Friday or Monday.

WTG Lonnie.

UPDATE:

He’s headed for rehab tomorrow.  Dr. says he’s taking up space in the hospital when he doesn’t need to.

He’s tough. 😀

Wreck

June 26, 2006

I had a wreck last night on the way home from work.  A big black pickup truck came from nowhere and hit my little Saturn in the passenger side.  I did a complete 180 and ended up in oncoming traffic, dazed, amazed and shaken to the core.  Someone helped me out of the car, onto the grass, called the cops/ambulance/firedepartment.  It was the people in the car who hit me.  They were the sweetest people.  The ambulance hauled me to the local hospital, at my son the Bastard Jr.s insistance.  X-rays, ekg, monitoring and two hours later I left the hospital.  Not a scratch, not a bruise and with the assurance that today there will not be a part of me that does not hurt terribly.  Nice Rx for pain killers as he assures me also that I will definately need them.

Today I am a little sore, nothing near what the doctor had promised.  No pain meds today, not even ibuprofen.  My nerves are more rattled than my body.  One more phone call and the insurance business will be taken care of.

My youngest, The Bastard Jr. commented on the way home last night……'cancer didn't get you, brown recluse didn't get you, car wreck didn't get you…..a neutron bomb probably wouldn't have a chance at this point.'  My thoughts on this…..God just isn't done with me yet!

Fr. Richard said that God sent an army of angels to protect me.

By the way….The Bastard calls me a work queer, but I'm taking off today!

I’m a Pig

June 25, 2006

Chinese Horoscope : The Pig

The Chinese Pig is the most honorable animal of the zodiac. Gentle and home-loving, Pigs are generous and indulgent by nature.

Unlike the typical view of the Pig, the Chinese Pig is known for its impeccable manners, exquisite taste and gentle disposition. You Pigs love comfort and prefer to indulge in a luxurious home than in going out. Subsequently, you spend more time with close friends and family than in wider social circles.

You hate emotional uncertainty but Pigs are incapable of making hard decisions so you often end up putting up with relationships that don't entirely satisfy you. You would still rather be with an unsuitable partner than be alone as one of your greatest fears is isolation.
