G/Mother

A year ago today we laid our Grandmother to rest.

I still want to be like her when I grow up.

G/mother was an artist, poet and short story writer. She took painting lessons when she was 80. She was very talented. I think that probably she didn’t write a book because her thought scattered.

I loved the stories she used to tell me about when her and G/daddy married. About borrowing $49 to make a crop on the farm. About living through the depression.

I think I was the only one she told those stories too…..no one else seems to remember them.

    will you write them down?

In one of my older posts I wrote about some of the stuff she told me. I’ll see if I can find it and refer you to it.

Great-grandmother was a kick ass lady. No two ways about it. I miss her, but I know she is in a happier place now. Hell, I think she was pissed that she lived as long as she did.
